Features

What makes this material work.

01

Up to temperature in an hour

Lower mass than a commercial dome means less waiting and less wood for a weekend firing.

02

Full commercial build quality

High-alumina hearth, firebrick dome, ceramic fibre and rockwool. The mass comes down, the specification does not.

03

Cooks well beyond pizza

Retained heat carries roasts the same evening and bread the following morning.

04

Built into your garden

Integrated with existing walls, boma structures, or outdoor kitchens rather than dropped on the lawn.

05

Weather-specified finish

Render, flue cap, and outer skin rated for the site — highland rain and coastal humidity are different problems.

06

First-fire walkthrough

We run the curing fires and show you how to fire, manage, and read the oven before handover.

Industry applications

Where it goes to work.

Homes & Private Residences

Family weekend cooking

Sized for a dozen people over an afternoon — up to temperature in an hour and still hot enough for bread the next morning.

Hotels & Resorts

Cottage and villa units

For self-catering units and private villas where guests cook for themselves rather than a kitchen brigade.

Cafés & Delis

Very small sites

Where floor area rules out a commercial dome but a real brick bake is still wanted.

Event & Outdoor Catering

Small private events

Adequate for private functions up to about 30 covers where a commercial oven would be overkill.

Why Brillian

Why customers specify us.

  • 01

Sized honestly for domestic use — we will not sell you a commercial dome for a family garden.

  • 02

Built into existing garden structures rather than requiring a new plinth.

  • 03

Curing schedule run by us; the first fire is where most new ovens get damaged.

  • 04

Hardwood sourcing advice for Kenyan conditions.

  • 05

Repair and relining available years later as the hearth wears.

Use case

In the field.

A Limuru household had the dome built into an existing garden wall so it reads as part of the boma rather than as equipment dropped into the lawn. Fired on Saturday afternoon, it runs pizzas for the family, a roast that evening, and bread on Sunday morning on the heat still in the brick.

Questions answered

FAQs

Is 90 cm big enough?
For family and small-gathering cooking, comfortably. It holds three 12-inch pizzas and turns 25–30 an hour, which is more than a household will ever need at once. If you regularly cook for 40+ people or plan to trade commercially, go to the 100 cm.
How much wood does a firing use?
Roughly 10–15 kg of seasoned hardwood to reach temperature, then a few pieces to hold it. An afternoon of cooking is well under a sack. Wet or unseasoned wood roughly doubles that and soots the dome, which is why we cover sourcing at handover.
Can it be built into an existing garden wall?
Usually yes, and it looks far better for it. We check the wall can carry the load and that clearance to combustible material and the flue route work. That is part of the site survey before we quote.
What maintenance does a domestic oven need?
Very little. Sweep the flue annually, keep the oven dry when not in use, and avoid firing it hard from cold. The hearth will need attention after many years of use — that is a reline, not a rebuild.
Can we cook things other than pizza?
That is most of the value. Pizza uses the top of the heat curve for 20 minutes; roasts, slow-cooked meat, vegetables, and bread use everything below it. A well-planned firing runs pizza, then a roast, then bread the next morning on falling heat.
